What We Do
The Pecos Valley Grotto is made up of cavers in southeastern New Mexico. We are passionate about caves and the opportunities for research and recreation that they provide. We work with our local public lands agencies and help out in our community.

Members of our grotto are active in exploring and surveying caves such as Carlsbad Cavern, Lechuguilla, Fort Stanton, Great X, and others managed by the National Park Service, US Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management.

We participate in the High Guads Restoration Project, Mike Mansur's Cave Formation Repair Project, and other restoration and conservation work.

In our community, we host annual cleanups of our adopted section of highway. In 2020, we adopted two trails in the Lincoln National Forest, and we hope to soon do more outreach at local events such as CavernFest.
